Visit our most important Square of Montevideo in the downtown.

The Prado is traditionally associated with the rich livestock aristocracy of the 19th century. Since the 1860s, these families built luxurious summer estates.

We will pass by the house of the current President of the Republic, we will stop to visit and take photos of the monument The Diligence, The monument Charruas (last indigenous), The Rosedal and we will pass around the Old Prado Hotel.

Mercado Agricola Montevideo - MAM

We will visit the Agricultural Market of Montevideo, one of the largest. Construction that began in 1906 and extended until 1912.

Urban Park where we will visit the Monument La Carreta and the Centennial Stadium, venue of the first world cup in 1930 and organized by FIFA.

Perfect Cruise Excursion of Montevideo

My husband and I booked the Best Private and Personalized City Tour in Montevideo for cruise passengers as we had never been to that city. I was able to stay in contact with the tour operator through WhatsApp which gave me an extra layer of comfort. Our tour guide Alvaro picked us up on time right outside of the cruise terminal. His English was great and he was very knowledgeable about the city. Everywhere we went, someone knew him! He spoke about the history of his city, showed us the old town, the historical rich area, government buildings, beautiful architecture, and of course all of the main attractions. We also escaped the downtown area for a bit and explored the beautiful beaches and the area where many of the embassies are located. Overall we were very happy with this tour and because of the personalized aspect of it, we were able to venture and see areas that appealed to us more. I believe that we got to see double the amount of attractions and probably learnt more about the history and day-to-day life of Uruguay than any tour we would have booked on the ship. Alvaro dropped us off at the Meat Market where we tried some of the local BBQ before we headed back onto the ship. We arrived with plenty of time to spare and enjoyed the entire day. Thank you Andres and Alvaro for everything.

The top guy to guide you through Montevideo

Andres, our driver/guide, is the owner of the company. His van is roomy and comfortable for 8 of us with lots of extra seats. He spent 4 solid hours with us, helped us find rest rooms, showed us how to shop in an indoor marketplace. We enjoyed his hospitality and company.

Our guide did a fantastic job showing us around Montevideo. I use a mobility scooter and they made sure I could get around the city and see the sites. We loved hearing all about the local culture, history, architecture and people. Would like to come back and see more of this city.
