I dont usually do bus tours, but this one may change my mind. Viator was extremely helpful and efficient when I made my reservation. The tour guide was well-spoken, knowledgeable and friendly. This is now my go-to tour company.
As for Colonia...its easy to see why it is a UNESCO site. The cobble stone streets and mix of Portuguese and Spanish architecture are like eye candy. The tour guide gave us a couple of hours to explore and get lunch. It was relaxing to just stroll the streets. I ate at what looked like your average pizza place on the Main Street, but decided to have their vegetarian sandwich instead. It was amazing. Roasted vegetables on a fresh chiabatta bun.
The entire day was lovely and well worth the price.
Everything about this tour was incredible! From pickup to drop off you will be thoroughly entertained with wonderful sights and rich history. Roxana is the BEST tour guide I have ever had. If you are lucky enough to get her you are in for a treat! She's educational, fun, and funny! :)
This was wonderful! The guide was friendly, informed and accessible, for starters. And the comfort of participants was well attended to the pleasant stop at the Nirvana hotel with refreshments, for instance.
Colonia is totally charming, and it seemed to be a good balance between the little tour the guide led and some free time on our own. Unfortunately it was beastly hot that day, so that slowed some of us down. But the guide offered suggestions for where to go and how to manage under the circumstances. The artisanal shops were also fun to explore, as were the port areas there, and the architecture. A little more descriptive map with a bit of history or explanation would be helpful.
We also enjoyed the stop at the collection museum and the shop where we could sample and buy local products dulce le leche, jams, empanadas, etc..
One of the more enjoyable tour experiences we've had.
